Where Winds Meet stuns with breathtaking open world and wuxia combat

Where Winds Meet just dropped a brand-new gameplay trailer, and it’s a stunner. NetEase Games is showing off a world inspired by 10th-century China, think green forests, lively markets, and peaceful palaces, all tied together with that cinematic wuxia flair.

You play as a young sword master searching for the truth about who you are, set during the chaotic Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms era. It’s a mix of Ghost of Tsushima meets Assassin’s Creed, packed with exploration, martial arts, and ancient mysteries waiting to be uncovered.

Combat looks slick and versatile, letting you fight with swords, spears, dual blades, or even umbrellas. You can chain attacks, switch weapons mid-fight, or use Taichi magic to control the battlefield. The movement is equally stylish, rooftop parkour, windstriding across miles, and fast-travelling between massive regions.

The game promises over 150 hours of adventure, complete with character customisation, solo play, and seamless co-op for up to four players. With over 20 regions to explore, it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest open-world martial arts games ever made.

Where Winds Meet launches on 14 November, complete with NVIDIA DLSS 4 support. If the trailer’s anything to go by, this might be one of the year’s most beautiful open-world experiences.
