Top Hat Studios and solo dev Kyle Thompson are back with another hand-crafted adventure. Well Dweller is a dark fairy tale Metroidvania, and it’s heading to Switch and PC sometime in 2026. Check out its trailer below.

You play as Glimmer, a tiny bird with a matchstick, with a goal to burn the wicked queen and save his kidnapped siblings. It’s a grim but charming tale set deep in a forest at the bottom of a well.
Expect gloomy ruins, creepy castles, and a cast of loveable weirdos. There’s Ilda, a runaway mouse camper. Looter, a sneaky scavenger. And a bunch of scattered siblings just waiting to be found.
Combat is matchstick-based and customisable with trinkets. You’ll light up the darkness, gain new abilities, and uncover secrets in a decaying kingdom.
