Mac n Cheese Games has announced Void Martyrs, a survival horror roguelite where you play as a battle-hardened nun on a mission to purge an alien infection. It’s coming to PC via Steam, with a demo on the way, though there’s no release date yet.
A nun’s crusade in deep space
In Void Martyrs, you’re sent into the void, clad in a space suit, to cleanse derelict ships and massive space cathedrals overrun by an eerie, biomechanical plague. Every mission is a fight for survival—scavenge for supplies, craft weapons, and brace yourself for relentless monstrosities. But here’s the twist: every kill comes at a cost. Giving in to violence taints your purity, while resisting it forces you to find other ways to stay alive.
The ultimate goal? Retrieve a relic at the heart of each location and make it back to your ship before the plague swallows you whole. Die a Saint, and the Church will send another martyr to recover your remains and continue the fight.
Void Martyrs key features
Void Martyrs blends survival horror with roguelite mechanics, featuring:
- Procedurally generated levels – No two missions play the same.
- A balance of purity and corruption – Your actions shape your sanctity, unlocking saintly or cursed items.
- Stigmata mechanics – Powerful afflictions that make you strong enough to resist the horrors chasing you.
- A handcrafted, grimdark art style – Inspired by Darkwood, Signalis, Blasphemous, and Void Bastards.
Expect intense, atmospheric horror with a roguelite loop that keeps you coming back.
