Valve shuts down Half Life 3 rumours again after fresh leak frenzy

Half Life 3 has once again dodged the spotlight. November 11th was hyped as the big day for Valve fans, with “leakers” teasing a long-awaited reveal. But as expected, no announcement was made.

Instead, Valve unveiled three new pieces of Steam hardware: the Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and Steam Frame. That’s right, all hardware, no Half Life 3. It’s the second time this year fans have been led astray. Earlier in June, another supposed leak pointed to a reveal during Summer Game Fest 2025, which also turned out to be false.

Another round of hype and heartbreak for Half Life 3 fans

It’s easy to see why the community still clings to hope. Earlier this year, rumours claimed Half Life 3 was deep in development and entering its final polish phase. Yet, there’s no solid proof. If Valve were truly preparing to show it, they wouldn’t bury such an announcement alongside new hardware, it would dominate the spotlight entirely.

Until Valve says otherwise, Half Life 3 remains the gaming world’s biggest “what if.” For now, fans can check out Project Borealis, a promising Unreal Engine 5 fan project that captures some of that Half Life magic.

So, the wait continues. Reset the clock. Half-Life 3 still isn’t real.
