The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt could be getting a brand-new DLC as early as May 2026, and while it still sounds surprising, there are enough signs to keep the hope alive. The original game is now over ten years old, and even the much-loved Blood & Wine expansion quietly crossed its own ten-year anniversary this year. That long gap is exactly why this rumour has caught so much attention.
Several reports surfaced throughout the year, but the most notable came from Mateusz Chrzanowski of Noble Securities, who shared speculative figures tied to a potential expansion. According to his prediction, the Witcher 3 DLC could launch at a $30 price point, which would be expensive for a DLC, with a projected target of 11 million sales.
That is a huge number and more than enough to justify a major marketing push, especially one that could help kick-start promotion for The Witcher IV.

Studio activity hints at a shorter, focused development cycle
The most convincing clue, however, is the current activity at Fool’s Theory. The studio reportedly has over 100 developers working on an unannounced project, with fewer people assigned to the Witcher 1 Remake. That imbalance strongly suggests a project with a shorter production cycle, one that is already ready for full-scale development rather than early planning.
If this Witcher 3 DLC does turn out to be real, the timing would make a lot of sense. The Witcher IV is not expected to release until 2027, leaving a perfect window to bring players back.
A new expansion could reintroduce the world, set up new characters, or even begin passing the torch to Ciri.
