Weappy Studio has revealed a new gameplay trailer for The Eternal Life of Goldman, a hand-drawn 2D action-platformer that’s quickly becoming one of the best-looking games in its genre.
Shown during the THQ Nordic Digital Showcase, the latest footage highlights new environments and sharper animations, raising the visual bar even higher.

The trailer also gave a deeper look into the story. A mother and her son discuss Goldman, a treasure hunter who spent his life obsessing over maps. The conversation grows tense as the mother’s frustration builds, ending with her yelling at her son for following Goldman’s path. The boy, confused and scared, doesn’t fully understand her anger. The trailer closes with Goldman descending into a dark chasm, leaving questions about the boy’s fate.

Goldman’s visuals impress, but gameplay still has to prove itself
The Eternal Life of Goldman’s hand-drawn animation is its biggest strength, evoking memories of Cuphead, another game praised for its manual artistry. Every frame is crafted with precision, making the game stand out visually.
However, like Cuphead, Goldman needs more than looks. The platforming and gameplay must be tight and engaging to match the visual appeal. So far, the trailers suggest a promising foundation, but the real test will be in how it plays.
Despite the impressive showcase, no release date was announced. Fans will have to wait longer to find out when they can get their hands on it.
