The Division franchise is officially ten years old, and Ubisoft is already looking ahead to what could be its biggest chapter yet.
The game was originally released in 2016; it dropped players into a collapsed New York City, mixing looter-shooter action with MMO-style systems. It quickly became a major hit and a key part of Ubisoft’s portfolio, later expanding with The Division 2 in 2019.

Now, attention is firmly on The Division 3
Speaking during the New Game+ showcase, executive producer Julian Gerighty shared a rare but encouraging update. He confirmed that The Division 3 is in production and described the project as “shaping up to be a monster”.

According to Gerighty, the team at Massive Entertainment is aiming high. He suggested the impact of The Division 3 could rival that of the original game, which launched with a strong critical reception and memorable cinematic trailers.
Interestingly, Gerighty also reflected on the rocky past of The Division 2. Last year, he revealed the game was close to being shut down before a small internal team stepped in and helped revive it. Since then, the series has gone from uncertain to booming.
While Ubisoft has yet to formally reveal The Division 3, fans finally have something concrete to hold on to.
