The Division 2 player count explodes after Ubisoft reveals huge 2026 roadmap

The Division 2 is seeing a sudden comeback after Ubisoft revealed its roadmap for 2026. The update has sparked a wave of excitement, pushing the game to its highest Steam player count yet.

Before the roadmap announcement, the game was averaging around 3,500 players on Steam. In the last 24 hours, that number jumped to 18,393 concurrent users. That is more than a 400% increase in just a few days.

For a game that launched back in 2019, that kind of growth is impressive. It also beats the previous Steam peak of roughly 14,000 players.

The Division 2 roadmap sparks player surge

The hype is not limited to Steam. During the roadmap reveal, more than 37,000 viewers were watching The Division 2 on Twitch. Even after the event, the game is still pulling around 4,500 viewers, far higher than the numbers it saw last year.

The roadmap explains why players are paying attention again. Ubisoft confirmed crossplay is finally coming to the game. A new DLC will also take players to Central Park for the first time.

Alongside that, the Survivors mode promises a rebuilt extraction-survival experience, and Classified Assignments are returning.

For a seven-year-old shooter, that is a strong comeback. If the roadmap delivers, The Division 2 could have a very busy year ahead.
