Tuxedo Labs and Saber Interactive are taking the fully destructible, voxel-based sandbox heist game, Teardown, to the next level with the introduction of a new Creative Mode. Released as part of the free Update 1.4 on Steam, this new mode paves the way for an immersive creative journey in the world of Teardown, where players can now construct their unique voxel creations.
Creative Mode equips players with a suite of new tools to build objects of any shape and size in Teardown. With a range of voxel materials at their disposal, including wood, brick, and metal, players can give life to their wildest construction fantasies. The creative process is made even simpler with the ability to save, spawn, move, and duplicate objects with total ease. To access Creative Mode, players simply need to enter any level in Sandbox Mode and select Creative Mode from the menu.
But that’s not all Update 1.4 has in store. The update also ushers in changes to Teardown’s API, broadening the horizons for modders with an enhanced toolset to create their own in-game content. A significant update enables modders to script dynamic shape rearrangements and manipulations by adding and removing voxels at run-time.
This unlocks the potential for incredible in-game transformations, such as the growth of seeds into trees, autonomous construction of buildings, creation of rusting vehicles, and any other real-time transformations the community can dream up!
Teardown’s immersive world of realistic physics and complete destruction has already won it accolades, including the Excellence in Design award at the Independent Games Festival. The introduction of Creative Mode is set to expand upon this success by offering players total freedom to explore, create and manipulate the game environment in never-before-seen ways.
Console players need not worry about missing out on all the fun. Teardown plans to introduce Creative Mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year. Players can look forward to experiencing the full 40-mission story campaign, the “Art Vandals” campaign expansion, special challenges, Sandbox Mode, as well as a collection of the community’s best mods from PC.
With a console-friendly user interface and haptic feedback on PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers, console gamers can look forward to a fully immersive gaming experience.
