Starfinder: Afterlight shows first gameplay ahead of early access in 2026

Epictellers Entertainment has shared a first proper look at Starfinder: Afterlight, its upcoming turn-based CRPG, during the New Game+ Showcase. The studio also confirmed that a playable demo is coming soon, ahead of the game’s early access launch planned for summer 2026.

Starfinder: Afterlight is being developed by Barcelona-based Epictellers Entertainment, which set out to prove there’s still room for classic CRPG design, especially after the success of Baldur’s Gate 3. This time, the team is leaning into a sci-fi setting with a strong western tone.

Starfinder: Afterlight Pre-Alpha Demo – Dev commentary

The new gameplay clip is brief but telling. It shows off turn-based combat, some light exploration, and a glimpse of the game’s atmosphere. While it’s not a deep dive, the presentation makes one thing clear: voice acting is a major focus.

That’s no surprise given the cast. Neil Newbon, known for Baldur’s Gate 3, is both voicing a character and directing performances. Roger Clark, the voice of Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, serves as the narrator throughout the game, chosen to reinforce its western feel.

The project was backed by a hugely successful Kickstarter, funded in just 80 minutes. With a demo now confirmed, a more precise early access date may not be far behind.
