Star Wars Outlaws adds new creative director and prepares for big update on November 21

The team behind Star Wars Outlaws has shared their first-ever development update, aiming to keep players in the loop about new changes and improvements. The big news in this update is that Drew Rechner has taken over as the Creative Director. Rechner wrote on Ubisoft’s website about the team’s goals for Star Wars Outlaws, explaining how they plan to make the game better based on player feedback.

Since the game’s release, the team has already rolled out three updates to tackle bugs and improve some areas players found frustrating. These updates have mainly focused on fixing bugs, making certain missions less frustrating, and improving the camera views and controls on speeders (the in-game vehicles). But they still have more work ahead, and the developers have laid out three main areas they’re focusing on next.

Star Wars Outlaws three main areas of improvement

  1. Combat Improvements: The team wants to make combat more exciting and rewarding. They’re working on adding more depth, meaning players will need to use better tactics and precise moves to succeed in fights. This will hopefully make battles feel more engaging.
  2. Better Stealth Mechanics: Many players have struggled with the game’s stealth missions. At first, these missions were challenging because players got caught by enemies too easily. The team has been working to make the stealth parts smoother and more predictable. They are now adjusting enemy detection so players can better understand when they might be spotted.
  3. Improved Character Controls: The third focus is on character controls. Players have had issues with finding cover and using it effectively. The team plans to make it easier to take cover, climb, and crouch. These changes aim to make movements feel more responsive and natural for players.

Big update coming soon

The next update, called Title Update 1.4, will launch on November 21. According to Rechner and the team, this will be the “biggest update yet” for Star Wars Outlaws. In addition to these improvements, the game will finally be available on Steam. Plus, a new story pack called Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card will be released at the same time.

Fans are hopeful that this update will make the game smoother and more enjoyable. If you want to pick the game up for a good price, head over to CDKeys for discounted games. Anything bought through this link may earn us a commission.
