STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is coming to PlayStation 5 in late 2025. GSC Game World shared the news today. The PS5 version will support full DualSense features like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. It will also get extra upgrades on PlayStation 5 Pro.
The game first launched on Xbox and PC on 20 November 2024. It has already sold over one million copies. It’s also available on Game Pass.
What is STALKER 2?
STALKER 2 is a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter with survival and horror elements. You play as a lone stalker in the dangerous Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Mutants, deadly anomalies, and warring factions are everywhere. The goal? Survive, find valuable artifacts, and uncover the truth.
The map is a 64 km² open world. It’s fully explorable with realistic visuals and weather. Your choices shape the story. There are different paths and several endings.
PS5 version upgrades
The DualSense controller will add more depth. You’ll feel the weight of every action, from bleeding and hunger to radiation. The PS5 Pro version will also improve visuals and performance.
This STALKER 2 version could become the best console way to play. The game already uses photogrammetry and smart AI. On PS5, it’ll look and feel even more intense.
Gameplay and features
There are 30+ guns and many ways to customise them. Enemies have smart tactics and different behaviours. Mutants are terrifying and unpredictable. Some hunt in groups. Others hide in dark corners.
Anomalies can kill you fast, but the best artifacts are hidden near them. If you want rewards, you’ll need to take risks.
The world is alive. A system called A-Life 2.0 keeps things moving. You’ll need to eat, rest, and watch your health. Weather and time of day also change how you play.
What’s next
A free multiplayer mode will be available after launch. Mod support is also included. Creative players will be able to expand the game.
For PS5 players, the wait is almost over. Late 2025 will bring SLTAKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl to a new home, with new tools, better immersion, and a world that pulls you in.
