Abylight Studios and Frictional Games have announced that SOMA is coming to Nintendo Switch on 24 July. The sci-fi horror game is set in an abandoned underwater base and tells a dark, emotional story about identity and survival.
First released in 2015, SOMA takes place in PATHOS-II, a research station beneath the Atlantic Ocean. Players explore dark corridors, hide from strange creatures, and uncover disturbing truths.
The game is known for its strong story, scary setting, and deep questions about what it means to be human.

SOMA on Switch keeps the horror intact
The Switch version has been fully adapted without losing anything important. It features:
- Full story and visual quality
- Immersive audio
- Smooth performance
- Support for Switch 2
Frictional Games built SOMA as a horror experience that sticks with you. There are no guns, just fear, mystery, and the slow realisation that something is very wrong.
The game has a solid Metacritic score of 84 and is praised as one of the best in its genre.
Already available on PS4, Xbox, and PC, SOMA now makes its way to Nintendo’s hybrid console. Whether you’re playing in handheld mode or docked, expect a heavy, emotional journey.
