Serpent’s gaze brings brutal co-op action to PC with a free demo

Serpent’s Gaze has been announced for PC, and its first demo is already live on Steam. The new cooperative action RPG comes from Feeble Minds, a studio formed by former Coffee Stain developers, and mixes Soulslike combat with roguelike progression.

The team says they want to build a game that blends what they love with fresh ideas. According to CEO Jannik Reuterberg, the studio includes veterans from places like Coffee Stain and Paradox, along with new talent. Their focus is on crafting a rich world and hearing player feedback early, starting with this demo.

The game is a punishing third-person experience built for one to four players. You explore an ancient desert, take on tough enemies, and face relentless bosses. The levels are all handcrafted. No procedural generation. Instead, every run feels different thanks to a “Curse” system that adds stacking challenges. These can be invading enemies, roaming minibosses, or hazards that shake up your strategy.

As a scion born from the tree god Magnolia, your goal is simple: destroy the opposing gods. How you build your character is up to you. Each run gives you blessings, relics, and gifts that shape your playstyle. The world itself shifts, too, with the Awareness system making the game harder as you survive.

You can play the full experience in co-op or go solo. Either way, the desert hides secrets worth uncovering. The demo is out now if you want to try Serpent’s Gaze for yourself.
