Grey State Studio has revealed Rules of Engagement: The Grey State, a new free-to-play horror PvPvE tactical extraction shooter. Alongside the announcement, the studio dropped a cinematic and gameplay trailer showing off its eerie world and high-stakes combat.

You’ll play as a Strider, an elite operative sent into the Grey State to retrieve priceless artefacts. The main goal is to secure the Vertex and make it out alive. It’s a brutal, nightmarish frontier where rival squads are out for the same reward, and every decision could mean the difference between escape and death.
Each squad starts with a basic loadout and must scavenge powerful gear before time runs out. When the final showdown begins, players can either leave early for a safe payday or risk everything to claim The Vertex.
What makes Rules of Engagement: The Grey State stand out is its horror twist. Its world is packed with monsters inspired by classic films and books. The trailer even teases creatures resembling a facehugger and Slenderman, an awesome touch that gives the game a unique vibe.
There’s no release date yet, but horror and extraction shooter fans should definitely keep this one on their radar.
