Riot Games may have revealed the console launch date for 2XKO earlier than intended.

The upcoming 2v2 fighting game is set in the League of Legends universe. It features well-known champions and focuses on fast-paced tag-team combat. The game is already available in open beta on PC, while console players are still waiting.

Riot had previously confirmed that 2XKO would launch on consoles in 2026. No specific date was shared. That changed briefly when an announcement trailer appeared on Riot’s official YouTube channel, before being pulled offline.

2XKO trailer raised questions

The now-removed video appeared to confirm a January 20, 2026, release date. The date applies to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles.

Riot has not explained why the trailer was taken down. The timing is also curious, given how close the apparent launch date is. It could mean the date is no longer final. It could also be that Riot did not want the announcement to be missed during New Year’s Eve celebrations.

There is still no sign of a Nintendo Switch 2 version. For now, the game seems locked to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox platforms.

Until Riot makes an official announcement, the leaked date should be treated carefully.
