It looks like Resident Evil 0 might finally get the remake treatment. According to a new report from MP1st, the game is currently in development under the codename Chamber, with a planned release window around 2028.
The report also backs up earlier claims from reliable leaker Dusk Golem, who said that Resident Evil Code Veronica is on the way first, targeting an early 2027 release. If both reports line up, Capcom seems to be going all in on reviving its classic survival horror lineup.

New cast for Resident Evil 0 and story changes shake things up
One of the biggest surprises is in the casting. Actor Jon McLaren, best known as Star-Lord(voice-actor) in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, is reportedly set to play Billy Coen, suggesting the remake will feature a brand-new cast. His online resume even lists a mysterious project called Chamber, which fits right in.
Story changes are also expected. The report mentions a major character from the wider Resident Evil lore will take on a larger role, with an entirely new subplot added to tie into the series’ timeline.
With Resident Evil Requiem coming this February and the franchise’s 30th anniversary next year, an official reveal might not be far off. A special anniversary video is set for 29th October, maybe that’s when we’ll see Resident Evil 0 rise again.
