ReSetna launches on January 31, 2025, for Switch and PC, with PS5 and Xbox Series to follow

Fans of side-scrolling Metroidvania games have something exciting to look forward to! ReSetna, the latest title from indie.io and Today’s Games, is launching for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 31 January 2025. Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series won’t have to wait too long, as the game will arrive on those platforms in Q1 2025.

A journey through a post-apocalyptic world

ReSetna is set in a post-organic future, where a rogue digital frequency called the Signal is wreaking havoc. Players step into the role of ReSetna, a combat robot activated by the APEX AI to stop the Signal. Alongside her loyal drone companion, IXA, ReSetna must explore decayed zones, uncover hidden secrets, and battle the Signal’s influence. The game promises a mix of tactical combat, exploration, and environmental storytelling across seven zones, offering over 20 hours of gameplay.

New teaser reveals two zones

A new gameplay teaser gives players a closer look at the game’s world, including the mysterious Darkness Zone and Acidia. Acidia, once home to Energetech Solutions, was devastated by experiments with Entropium, an unstable synthetic substance. These experiments damaged the environment, creating the Darkness Zone—a chaotic dimension with distorted reality. Players will explore Acidia’s toxic wastelands, filled with remnants of advanced technology and scars from the past.

Music, gameplay, and global accessibility

The game’s soundtrack, created by composer Nikola Jeremic, combines real instruments like metal and wood with retro synthwave and ambientwave elements. This unique soundscape reflects the decayed and forgotten world of ReSetna.

One standout feature in ReSetna is the Tetris Chip Upgrade System. Players can collect chips to customise their weapons and abilities, encouraging exploration and strategic play to overcome tougher challenges. To ensure accessibility worldwide, the game will be available in multiple languages, including English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish (Latin), Portuguese (Latin), German, French, and Russian.

Demo available now

Can’t wait until 2025? A demo is available on Steam, letting players try out the first zone, Polis13, including an intense boss fight. The demo gives a glimpse into the vibrant and detailed art style of the full game, which will feature six additional zones to explore.

Mark your calendars

ReSetna launches on 31 January 2025 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions following shortly after in Q1 2025. Don’t miss this thrilling journey through a broken world full of mysteries, challenges, and unforgettable moments.
