PUBG is finally ditching PS4 and Xbox One this November for a full next-gen takeover

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is moving on from old-gen. KRAFTON has confirmed the free-to-play battle royale will end service for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 13 November 2025. On the same day, a native version will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

All account data and purchased items will carry over. There is no need for manual transfers; simply log in to your new console. PS5 players will need to download the new version from the PlayStation Store, while Xbox players will get the upgrade via Smart Delivery.

PUBG is preparing for a current-gen future

The move promises better visuals, more stable frame rates, and fewer crashes. PS5 and Xbox Series X aim for 60fps at higher resolutions, with Series S offering performance and resolution modes. Cross-play support is still there.

Refunds for BATTLEGROUNDS Plus or the game itself will follow each platform’s refund policy.

KRAFTON says the decision wasn’t easy, but it is necessary to prepare for bigger future updates and a smoother experience. After eight years on PS4 and Xbox One, the battleground is heading firmly into the current-gen era.

Old-gen PUBG players have until November to make the jump.
