PLAY Expo Blackpool – Two Weeks to go! Lots of updates!

With just two weeks to go until PLAY Expo Blackpool visits the Norcalympia Exhibition Centre, we have a few updates about what gamers can expect to see.

Huge Range of Japanese Arcade Cabinets

Replay Events are bringing some of Japan’s finest cabs to Blackpool for the first time!

The arcade zone is a PLAY Expo Blackpool staple, and this year organisers are working with Japanarama to give it a Japanese twist by bringing a range of Rhythm, Shooting, and Fighting large-scale modern Japanese cabinets!

With cabs such as Darius Burst EX, Taiko no Tatsujin 14, and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva joining our arcade zone PLAY Expo Blackpool will have up to almost 150 awesome arcade cabinets across the show!

First Expo Appearance – Tim Follin

Composer Tim Follin is making his PLAY Expo debut!

Best known for composing some of retro gaming’s greatest soundtracks, Tim Follin has over 60 titles under his belt including work on Bubble Bobble, Ghouls’n Ghosts, Silver Surfer (NES), Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge, and more! Join Tim for a talk and Q&A session this October.

Live Gaming Music Set – Gaming Muso

James Marsh aka The Gaming Muso will be performing LIVE!

The first person to ever officially release a Recorded version of the iconic Road Avenger theme from the Sega Mega-CD, James‘ videogame covers have caught the attention of Sega and even Yuzo Koshiro!

He’s performed for Royalty, opened for The Who, hung out with Kiss, and now he’s performing LIVE on the Saturday of PLAY Expo Blackpool.

Hewson Consultants – Talk and Q&A

PLAY Expo Blackpool will be holding a Hewson Consultants Panel with Andrew and his son Rob!

Two generations of the games industry are getting together to talk shop; So whether you’re a fan of Hewson Consultants classics such as Cybernoid and Uridium, or Rob’s work on the LEGO franchise of games, Hyper Sentinel, and more, you won’t want to miss out on this unique father and son panel!
