Phantom Squad is out now on Steam, and it’s seriously worth your time. If you liked Doorkickers, this one is right up your alley. It’s more fast-paced, though. Less planning, more reacting. Real-time strategy that keeps you on your toes.
The game comes from Super Rare Games. It’s built for 4-player co-op, but solo works surprisingly well too. That’s rare. Most co-op games fall apart when you try to play alone. Here, solo play is tight and still fun.
Each mission starts with a planning phase. You plot your route, mark targets, and pick your loadout. Once it kicks off, things get intense. Every move matters. Every shot counts. And yes, friendly fire is on, so you’ll need to be careful.

Phantom Squad makes every choice matter in combat
Combat is quick and unforgiving. You can’t just run in. Enemies hit hard, and mistakes cost lives. You’ve got 13 weapons and over 20 gadgets to pick from. Smoke, drones, breach charge, it’s all here.
Maps aren’t static either. They shift between runs, keeping things fresh. You never play the same mission twice. If mod support and editors arrive later, this game could blow up.
It’s cheap too. Just under $10 (around £7.70), with 30% off at launch. That’s a solid deal for this much tactical action.
So if you want tight combat, real-time teamwork, and a good bit of tension, check out Phantom Squad. It’s easy to miss, but it’s worth it.
