OneXPlayer is preparing something very different with its new 14-inch Super X device. The company has placed an official Kickstarter preview online, showing a laptop and tablet hybrid built for people who want strong performance in a portable body. The idea behind the Super X is simple: give users desktop-level power in a thin machine that can switch between two forms.

At the centre of the Super X is the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU. It comes with 16 cores, 32 threads, and a boost speed of up to 5.1 GHz. The graphics side uses the Radeon 8060S, which is close to the desktop RTX 4060 in real-world strength. This makes the device suitable for gaming, content work, and even AI tasks.
The most surprising addition is the support for an external liquid-cooling system. On its own, the Super X runs at 45 W. But when you attach the Frost Bay water-cooling unit, the chip jumps to a 120 W cTDP. This extra cooling lets the system stay stable during very heavy workloads, something we rarely see in a 2-in-1 device. The cooler is sold separately, but it unlocks the full potential of the machine.
Memory support also stands out. The Super X can take up to 128 GB of RAM, and up to 96 GB can be shared with the GPU. This helps the device run local AI models smoothly, which is becoming more important for many users today.
The 14-inch display is designed for both work and creativity. It uses a 2880×1800 panel with a 16:10 ratio and a variable refresh rate that goes from 48 Hz to 120 Hz. The screen supports HDR, has a very high 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and includes 4,096 pressure levels, making drawing and sketching feel natural.
Storage options include an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD, plus you can add a BiWin Mini SSD for up to 2 TB more. A microSD slot is also available for extra files or fast transfers.
OneXPlayer claims the 85.58 Wh battery can last up to 12.2 hours when watching offline videos, or about 8.2 hours when streaming online. These figures come from the company’s internal tests, so real reviews will show the true results once testing begins.
