Nioh 3 release date reportedly leaks ahead of State of Play

Nioh 3 release date may have leaked, and it could be sooner than expected. According to online storefront listings, Nioh 3 is set to launch on 6 February 2026. The listings briefly appeared on Amazon Japan before being taken down, showing both a standard edition and a “Treasure Box” collector’s edition. The premium bundle included an art book, soundtrack CD, mousepad, and even a furry keychain.

Nioh 3 – announcement trailer

While Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have yet to confirm anything, the timing is suspicious. A PlayStation State of Play is happening today, and with Nioh 3 confirmed for PS5 and PC, it feels like the perfect moment for an official reveal.

The game itself takes a bold step forward. Players will control a fictionalised version of Japan’s first shogun, Tokugawa Takechiyo. The land is under siege from supernatural forces, and players must use both samurai and ninja techniques to push back the darkness. The samurai stance introduces a Ki Pulse to recover stamina mid-fight, while the ninja stance brings a mist ability that spawns a doppelganger to distract enemies.

Nioh 3 - Leaping down from above to tackle enemies

Team Ninja has said Ninja Gaiden influenced the new combat approach, making battles sharper and faster. For fans of their action-heavy style, this is one to watch.

And if you’re hungry for more, the studio isn’t slowing down. Ninja Gaiden 4, co-developed with Platinum Games, arrives on 21 October.
