Nice Day for Fishing - Logo and Key Art

When Azerim needs a hero… but all it has is a fishing NPC.

Today marks the official launch of Nice Day for Fishing, the highly anticipated RPG adventure from FusionPlay, Team17 Digital, and the brilliant minds at Viva La Dirt League. Available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, the game brings the absurdity of the Epic NPC Man universe to life in an epic yet charming pixel-art adventure.

Jake McKenzie Presents: A Developer Update...

Set in the world of Azerim, players step into the boots (and fishing waders) of Baelin, the loveably clueless NPC turned accidental adventurer. What starts as a simple fishing trip in the peaceful village of Honeywood quickly spirals into a full-blown quest involving magic, monsters, and way more carp than you’d expect.

Forget swords – here, your fishing rod is your main weapon. You’ll dive beneath the surface of lakes and oceans to engage in epic underwater battles, collect gear, upgrade spells, and rebuild your hometown using loot dredged from the deep. And yes, there are boss fights. Big, wet, fishy boss fights.

Nice Day for Fishing key features include

With pixel-perfect charm and a tongue-in-cheek tone throughout, Nice Day for Fishing is far more than a simple side-quest. It’s a love letter to RPG tropes, complete with magic hats, talking statues, and… deeply emotional fish?

The base game is priced at £19.99/$19.99, with the optional Legendary DLC and soundtrack available separately. The Epic Edition bundles everything together for the ultimate rod-swinging experience.

So, whether you’re a long-time Viva La Dirt League fan or just in the mood for something funny and fresh, this one’s worth casting a line for.

It’s a Nice Day for Fishing, ain’t it? 🎣
