Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV: Chocobos, Cactuars & Omega arrive Autumn 2025

Monster Hunter isn’t a stranger to the world of Final Fantasy. Having a crossover previously, in Monster Hunter World. But now, announced at Gamescom last week, Monster Hunter Wilds is getting a crossover with Final Fantasy XIV.

This is so timely for me personally, as I’m on a bit of a Final Fantasy kick. Having just finished my review for Final Fantasy VII Remake, and starting Final Fantasy X. Seeing two of these massive worlds collide in such specific and excellent ways is a real treat.

The event promises a ton of exciting new content for players of both games. So, sharpen your blades and ready your spells, because things are about to get wild!

What’s coming to Monster Hunter Wilds?

Hunters in Monster Hunter Wilds are in for a real treat.

As part of the game’s third Title Update, scheduled for late September 2025, players will get to experience a taste of Eorzea in the world of Monster Hunter.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

This has sparked a lot of speculation about the fight with Omega Planetes. Seemingly an incredibly tough boss in Final Fantasy XIV. Seeing how it pans out will be really interesting.

What’s coming to Final Fantasy XIV?

The crossover event isn’t just a one-way street. Final Fantasy XIV players will also have plenty to look forward to when the event goes live in early October 2025.

As we said before, this isn’t the first time these two gaming giants have crossed paths. Fans will remember the hugely popular Monster Hunter: World collaboration that brought the mighty Behemoth to the New World.

It’s fantastic to see this partnership renewed, and we can’t wait to see what other surprises are in store. So, whether you’re a seasoned hunter or a veteran Warrior of Light, get ready for an unforgettable adventure!

Monster Hunter WIlds: Title Update 3

These title updates have been pretty solid up until now. All free, although always released alongside some additional paid cosmetics.

Capcom have committed to working on the performance issues, but seems to be focused purely on content since the release. Let’s see if a batch of fixes comes as a part of the update, or before/after.

Monster Hunter Wilds is one of the best games of this year, and a genuine contender for the game of the year, in my opinion.
