Marvel’s Wolverine claws its way back into the spotlight with gameplay debut and release window

Insomniac Games finally lifted the curtain on Marvel’s Wolverine at today’s State of Play, and the result was nothing short of brutal. After years of silence, we have got our first glimpse of Logan in action, and it’s clear the team isn’t shying away from his violent side.

Marvel’s Wolverine – Behind The Claws trailer

The trailer showed off fast, savage combat, with Logan tearing through enemies in bloody detail. It’s a stark contrast to Insomniac’s Spider-Man series, leaner, darker, and far more visceral. Different environments flashed by, hinting at an adventure that won’t stay locked in one city.

Familiar names from the comics made an appearance, too, including Mystique and Omega Red. Their presence suggests the game will dive deeper into Wolverine’s tangled past and bring in a cast that challenges him both physically and emotionally.

Behind the scenes, Creative Director Marcus Smith and Executive Producer Eric Monacelli stressed that this is meant to be the definitive Wolverine experience. Senior Project Manager Jess Reiner Reed added that every detail, from character design to tone, is being built with that in mind.

The role of Logan belongs to Liam McIntyre, best known for Spartacus and Gears of War. His gravelly delivery in the trailer feels like a perfect fit.

Marvel’s Wolverine will hit PlayStation 5 in fall 2026, with more updates landing in spring 2026. The claws are sharpened, and the countdown begins.
