Light of Motiram has had a big facelift on Steam. Earlier this summer, Sony sued Tencent, claiming the upcoming title copied the Horizon franchise. Now, Tencent seems to be toning things down. Check out its trailer below.

The game’s description has been rewritten. Gone are the mentions of “mechanimals” that looked and acted like Horizon’s machines. The new blurb is vague, telling players only that “overcoming the challenges of survival” is key to making it in this harsh world.
Screenshots have also been swapped. Images with Horizon-like colour palettes and backgrounds are out. The new ones still show some similar elements but avoid obvious visual overlaps.

Sony’s lawsuit revealed Tencent had pitched a Horizon spin-off. It would have sent Aloy to Asia to meet mechanimals inspired by Eastern mythology. Sony rejected it. The company claims Tencent and developer Polaris Quest made Light of Motiram anyway.
The game is still listed for a Q4 2027 release on Steam. But if Sony wins the case, its launch could be in serious doubt.
