Lies of P Overture DLC surprise drops with thrilling new story, bosses, and weapons

Lies of P Overture - Logo and Key Art

Without any buildup or countdown, Lies of P just surprised fans with the release of its first DLC, Overture. It dropped during Summer Game Fest, catching everyone off guard, and it’s already available across all platforms: PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mac, and Game Pass. If you’ve been itching to return to the eerie streets of Krat, now’s your chance.

The new expansion acts as a prequel, showing Krat in its final, crumbling days before the Puppet Frenzy. Once again, you’ll step into the role of Geppetto’s Puppet, but this time guided by a mysterious figure known as the Legendary Stalker. Together, you’ll explore places the base game never showed: lavish mansions, haunted ruins, and a city clinging to its last moments of beauty before falling into chaos.

Lies of P: Overture - Launch Trailer

According to NEOWIZ and Round8 Studio, this DLC wraps up the first arc of Lies of P’s story. Game director Jiwon Choi mentioned they wanted to surprise fans and end the current storyline in a way that feels special, dropping it during one of the biggest gaming events of the year.

What’s new in the Lies of P Overture DLC?

Overture adds a bunch of new content, some of it beautiful, a lot of it deadly. Here’s what’s in store:

The whole atmosphere leans even harder into the gothic and mysterious tone that made the base game so memorable. If you enjoy the feeling of slowly uncovering a tragic story, this prequel takes it even deeper.

Free update: Harder difficulties and boss rematches

Even if you don’t pick up the Overture, there’s something new for everyone. The base game now includes a patch with two extra difficulty modes. These are unlocked after finishing at least one ending:

Both modes are accessible through the Hotel Krat Stargazer, making it easy to jump into the new content once you’re ready.

This isn’t just extra content, it’s a deeper look into the world of Lies of P. Overture gives more backstory, new characters, and higher stakes. And with hints that more content might be coming in the future, it feels like a turning point for the series.

Overture DLC also respects what made the base game special: meaningful choices, tough-as-nails combat, and a world filled with atmosphere. If you enjoyed your first time in Krat, this new chapter gives you a reason to return and plenty of reasons to die trying.
