Larian reveals new Divinity at TGA 2025 as its biggest RPG since Baldur’s Gate 3

The mystery statue in the Mojave Desert wasn’t just a stunt. It was the hint everyone expected. And at The Game Awards 2025, Larian Studios confirmed it. A new Divinity game is real.

If you’ve followed Larian since before Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll know the series is its core fantasy RPG world. Fans already guessed the studio wouldn’t jump into Baldur’s Gate 4. A return to Divinity always felt likely. Tonight’s trailer proved it.

The reveal was cinematic. No gameplay yet. But it showed the tone clearly. Dark. Big. Ambitious. And while it doesn’t have a number, this is the seventh Divinity game overall.

There’s an interesting detail here. Larian is still working on Baldur’s Gate 3. Swen Vincke said last year that their next game “needs a lot more time in the oven” and will be “so big.” That means it is still early.

This early announcement might help recruitment. Or it could mean Larian plans the same path as Baldur’s Gate 3: early access first, full release later, shaped by player feedback.

Either way, the wait will be long. But the return of Divinity is no small move. And it’s already one of the biggest stories at TGA 2025.
