Developer 5th Column Studio has revealed Kaidan, a dark, extraction-lite game inspired by Japanese mythology and cosmic horror, coming to PC via Steam. The release date hasn’t been announced yet, but the game is already turning heads with its eerie concept.
Official Kaidan reveal trailer
In Kaidan, you play as a Seeker who has struck a deal with The Envoy for a second chance at life. You return to the once-tranquil land of Ikaiguchi, now twisted and nightmarish, to silence the dreaded Chordbearers. Every mission is a test of skill, strategy, and sanity, with danger lurking in every corner.
The game supports solo and co-op play, letting you tackle its horrors alone or with friends. Explore blighted villages, desecrated temples, and otherworldly realms where the mist between worlds is dangerously thin. Combat is tense and punishing, featuring terrifying Yokai and formidable bosses that demand careful planning.

You must manage a roster of unique characters, each with their own abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Balancing supplies, tools, and relics becomes vital for survival. Weapons and abilities can be upgraded and customised, adding layers of strategy to every encounter.
Kaidan is a brutal, immersive journey for fans of Japanese dark fantasy and cosmic horror, where you survive, or risk losing everything.
