JBL has officially launched the new JBL Xtreme 5 and Go 5 portable speakers, bringing better sound, simple smart features, and a fresh design. These new models improve both audio quality and ease of use, making them a strong choice for everyday listening.
The JBL Xtreme 5 is the main highlight. It comes with a new internal design that uses dual tweeters and a subwoofer to deliver stronger and clearer sound. The bass is now deeper, and the speaker can play louder than before. JBL says the bass has improved by around 10 percent compared to the older model.

To keep the sound clean at high volume, the Xtreme 5 uses AI Sound Boost. This helps reduce distortion so music sounds clear even when played loud. Another useful feature is Smart EQ Mode. It can detect if you are listening to music or speech and adjust the sound settings automatically. This means better clarity for both songs and spoken content without any manual setup.
The JBL Go 5 is smaller but still brings noticeable improvements. It now offers louder sound in a compact size, making it easy to carry anywhere. A new AirTouch feature makes pairing simple. You just tap two Go 5 speakers together, and they connect instantly for stereo sound.
Both speakers now include ambient edge lighting. These lights are not just for style but also show useful information like battery level and connection status. The Xtreme 5 also offers different lighting modes, so users can set the mood based on their environment.
Durability remains strong on both models. They come with an IP68 rating, which means they are resistant to water and dust. The outer design includes rubber protection to handle small drops and rough use. The Xtreme 5 also has a more stable base, making it easier to place on different surfaces.
Battery life is solid as well. The Xtreme 5 can run for up to 24 hours, with extra time available using a boost mode. The Go 5 offers up to 8 hours of playback, with a small extension when boost mode is used.
JBL Xtreme 5 and JBL Go 5 pricing and availability
The JBL Xtreme 5 will be available in Black, Blue, and Camo colours, priced at €349.99. The JBL Go 5 will come in multiple colour options with a starting price of €49.99. Both models are expected to be available from March.
With these updates, JBL continues to improve its portable speakers by offering better sound, simple smart features, and a design that is easy to use anywhere.
