Bond fans will have to wait a bit longer to earn their licence to kill, as 007 First Light has been delayed to May 27th, 2026. IO Interactive confirmed this with a post they shared on X regarding the game’s delay.
These delays are never good news, but there is a silver lining here; as the game is already finished from head to toe, these extra two months are just for polishing. The studio wants the game to be optimised so there cannot be frame rate issues during the launch.

Initially, the game was supposed to be a “spring blockbuster,” but after the delay to its May 27th release window, it will be a summer blockbuster instead.
007 First Light’s gameplay from the State of Play was a bit rough around the edges, as it faced constant frame issues and the textures affected its reputation. However, the gameplay that fans have been waiting for might be delivered thanks to this two-month delay.

007 did not meet its March deadline, but now it can be a great start to the summer season.
