Hotel Afterlife – hellish tycoon game announced

In the fourth quarter of 2020, a new economic strategy game Hotel Afterlife will be released on PC – announced Gaming Factory S.A. This full of black humour hellish tycoon will also appear on Nintendo Switch and other consoles. The creators from Alrauna Studio announce that Hotel Afterlife will allow the “purification of sinful souls” and will be a title addressed to fans of Two Point Hospital and Dungeon Keeper series, among others.

The independent Polish studio, Alrauna Studio, is working on Hotel Afterlife. The game’s publisher will be Gaming Factory S.A., whose publishing plans also include the Chains of Fury comic shooter as well as the sports and racing game FoodBall.

The player takes the role of a manager of an unusual hotel, located in the inferno afterlife. However, the rules of this hotel will be far from the standard. As the game’s creators explain, instead of caring for and pampering customers, the player will be given the task of “hosting” the sinners accordingly. The smooth and efficient operation of the hotel will allow you to climb the corporate hierarchy.

This unusual tycoon is created as a single-player game. The title will offer an extensive campaign with 9 hellish maps, modelled on the circles of hell from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. A free play mode will also be prepared, and the authors are also considering a number of additions based on mythologies and cultures from around the world.

A game designer from Alrauna Studio, Michał Stonawski commented:

Hotel Afterlife is not a five-star hotel full of luxury but a very specific place. It is a kind of purification of sinful souls. In this world, the currency will not be dollars, yen, euro or cryptocurrencies but simply sins. Our game will provide many opportunities and will release the creative potential of players. The gameplay will focus on building, personalizing soul purification and various economic elements. There will also be a good level of ambiguous humour and references to pop culture and politics.

This new tycoon will allow building the hotel from scratch, including the planning of individual rooms and floors. It will also be up to the player to choose and place attractions, including many torture devices. The job will also manage barracks and staff, as well as making architectural and financial decisions.

CEO of Gaming Factory S.A., Mateusz Adamkiewicz also added:

This hellish tycoon will combine elaborate strategic and economic elements and a lot of black humour. Hotel Afterlife should appeal especially to players who appreciate games in the style of Two Point Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, Hotel Giant or Prison Architect.
