After years of rumours, NCSOFT has finally revealed Horizon Steel Frontiers at G-Star 2025, a full-scale MMORPG coming to PC through the studio’s PURPLE platform and to mobile on iOS and Android.
This ambitious project is set in Horizon’s rich post-apocalyptic world, blending exploration, survival, and large-scale multiplayer combat. Jan-Bart van Beek, Studio Head at Guerrilla Games and the mind behind the original concept, described it as a version of Horizon designed to be played “anywhere and at any time.” He confirmed that Guerrilla playtested the game and praised how it captures both a fresh identity and the spirit of the series.

A world built for cooperation and competition
Van Beek hinted at a mix of PvE and PvP, where players share the frontier, sometimes teaming up to take down machines, other times clashing with rival tribes for resources.
Sung-gu Lee, Executive Producer at NCSOFT, revealed that combat has been redesigned for MMO play. Players can climb onto damaged machines with a Pullcaster, set traps, cause status effects, and even carry fallen weapons into future fights.

Set in a new region called the Deadlands, inspired by New Mexico and Arizona, Horizon Steel Frontiers delivers vast battles, strategic depth, and the stunning wilderness fans love, this time, shared with thousands of others.
