Hollow Knight: Silksong gets multiplayer with new fan mod

Hollow Knight: Silksong has built its reputation on being a solo test of patience and precision. No summons, no shortcuts – just you against some of the nastiest bosses around. But thanks to a new fan creation, that’s no longer the case.

Modder 233xvx233 has released the Silksong Steam multiplayer mod, letting a second Hornet join the fight. It’s proper co-op too, not a gimmick. Both players can move through levels together, tackle bosses at the same time, and yes, fall victim to traps side by side.

Co-op chaos in Silksong

It’s a wild shift for a game that thrives on isolation. Widow, Sister Splinter, Lace – all fights designed to break you – suddenly feel different when someone else is in the arena. The mod doesn’t remove the difficulty, but it does turn the frustration into a shared experience.

Installation is straightforward, and once set up, sessions run smoothly without major hiccups. It’s not an official feature, and Team Cherry hasn’t hinted at adding multiplayer, but the mod fills that gap for anyone curious about a co-op twist.

Is this a step too far from Silksong’s original vision, or just another way to enjoy it? Either way, the option is here, and we finally have a choice.
