Halo Infinite: Operation Snowbound – Time to celebrate the Halodays

Haloween is over and now it’s time to celebrate the Halodays instead….

Operation: Snowbound has arrived in Halo Infinite, bringing some festive fun to the Haloday season. Running from today through to January 7th, 2025, this update brings quite a lot with it!

Here’s the season trailer:

New playlist and a new mode

Operation: Snowbound brings some new multiplayer chaos with it.

Spartans looking to prove their skills can jump into the new 1v1 Showdown playlist. Battle it out on condensed versions of classic maps with randomized loadouts. Winning really does come down to pure ability.

Or, later in the operation, prepare for some good old-fashioned fun with the Snowball Fight mode. Trade your weapons for an endless supply of plasma grenades and test your throwing arm on Snowbound, Snow Ground, and Snow Fire.

I’ll be honest, the 1v1 would have tickled my pickle back in the day, but now plasma snowballs piques my interest much more. It’ll be chaotic fun, for sure!

Halo Infinite: Operation Snowbound - Festival Helpers

Snowbound

Halo 3 had some iconic maps, and Operation: Snowbound remakes the classic maps Snowbound and High Ground. These have been painstakingly recreated in Halo Infinite’s Forge (man, I wish I had the time to get my head into it!).

These snowy reimaginings offer a fresh take on familiar territory, perfect for veterans and newcomers alike. The winterized variant of Live Fire, “Snow Fire”, also returns to matchmaking.

Operation Pass

Yet another free pass! Honestly, Halo Studios know how to treat us die-hards these days.

The new free 20-tier Operation Pass introduces the Infractor armor set, inspired by the fearsome Jiralhanae Stalkers from Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST.

Premium options are available for those who want to unlock all tiers instantly or acquire bonus XP and customization options, but you really don’t need to.

The exchange and shop

Of course, you can earn Spartan Points by playing matches and completing challenges to acquire a variety of Holiday-themed items from previous events in The Exchange. The in-game shop also offers festive bundles like the Festival Helpers and Lancejack, featuring new armour, weapon skins, and more.

Operation: Snowbound feels like it’s going to be a decent winter indulgence. I love dipping in and out of Halo Infinite multiplayer still. And who doesn’t love themed events with free stuff?

Happy Halodays!
