Ghost of Yotei is back with another weapon showcase, and this time the spotlight is on the odachi. The latest trailer gives us a proper look at Atsu carving through enemies with the oversized blade, and it looks brutal.
Ghost of Yotei – Odachi gameplay
The odachi is basically a longer katana, trading speed for range and sheer power. In the footage, Atsu swings wide, cutting down multiple foes with heavy strikes. It’s slower, sure, but when it lands, it hits hard. Perfect for crowd control and for anyone who likes to feel the weight of every swing.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Atsu’s arsenal in action. Recent trailers have already teased the kusarigama, yari, and even firearms. Now, with the odachi shown off, that just leaves the dual swords, the katana, and the bow. It looks like the studio is pacing the reveals to wrap up just before launch.
Ghost of Yotei is set to release on October 2nd, and anticipation couldn’t be higher. As the follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, it has a lot to live up to. PlayStation fans will get another look at Tokyo Game Show, but from what we’ve seen so far, Atsu’s quest for vengeance is shaping up to be something special.
