A new medieval sandbox RPG is on the way, and it’s shaping up to be something special. Chronicles: Medieval is the debut project from Raw Power Games, a studio made up of experienced developers. Built with Unreal Engine 5 and the studio’s own Asgard technology, the game will release in Early Access on Steam for PC in 2026.

In Chronicles: Medieval, players will start with almost nothing in a gritty version of medieval Europe. You’ll fight, build, trade, or lead; how you rise is completely up to you. Whether you want to create a kingdom, become a powerful merchant, or lead armies into war, the game gives you the freedom to shape your own story.

Chronicles: Medieval - large scale battle

According to Andrzej Zawadzki, the studio’s senior designer, the goal is to let players create their legacy. “Whether players dream of carving out a kingdom, leading armies into battle, or becoming the most prosperous trader, history is written by their hand,” he said in a press release.

Chronicles: Medieval will offer large-scale battles where you can command units like English longbowmen or French cavalry. You’ll also be able to take part in sieges, build your castles, and defend them from other players or NPC threats. The world is designed to react to your choices, meaning every action can lead to new challenges or opportunities.

Clemens Koch, senior community manager at the studio, added that they plan to involve players throughout development. “We believe the best ideas often come from players themselves,” he explained. Players will be able to give feedback, join early tests, and help shape how the game evolves. The studio has launched a Discord server for anyone interested in following the project closely.
