Borderlands 4 won’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 for now.
Take-Two Interactive announced in its February 3 earnings report that development for the Switch 2 version is on pause. No release date is set, and the team is focusing on other projects.
Spokesperson Alan Lewis told Variety it was a tough decision. He added that Take-Two is still working closely with Nintendo, with PGA Tour 2K25 and WWE 2K26 already planned for the console. More Switch 2 games are expected in the future.

Borderlands 4 content is still moving forward
For players on existing platforms, Borderlands 4 is far from finished. Gearbox shared its 2026 roadmap, which includes Photo Mode, story updates, and new content packs. These updates will roll out throughout the year, keeping the game fresh.
Switch 2 fans may have to wait, but Borderlands 4 continues to grow on other platforms. The pause doesn’t mean the end, and there’s still plenty of content to enjoy this year.
