Borderlands 4 finally confirmed for Switch 2 with delayed October release

Borderlands 4 is coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC on 12 September 2025. The Switch 2 version won’t launch until 3 October.

Gearbox president Randy Pitchford revealed the date in a video on X. He joked about delays, then shouted, “It’s October 3, you guys!” He added fake airhorns for flair.

It’s not a massive delay, but still a wait. About three weeks. Switch 2 players will be behind everyone else.

The delay might help performance. The Switch 2 isn’t as powerful as the other systems. We’ll see how well it runs.

Best ending in the Borderlands series

Gearbox says this is the best Borderlands endgame ever. That sets the bar high. The Switch 2 version has to deliver.

Price could be a problem. Pitchford once told fans to “find a way” to pay $80. That didn’t go down well.

If the Switch 2 version is more expensive, or worse, Gearbox should expect backlash.

For now, it’s a short wait. Just a few weeks. Let’s hope it’s worth it.
