2K and Gearbox Software have revealed the big post-launch and endgame content for Borderlands 4, and it’s looking stacked. You will have more reasons than ever to keep looting on Kairos once the credits roll.
Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode is back, but with a twist. Instead of replaying the campaign, players will climb through five escalating ranks by completing curated challenges. Each rank comes with exclusive Firmware bonuses – powerful stat boosts that can be transferred to gear, though only once.

Weekly challenges and loot hunts are back in Borderlands 4
The hunt for loot won’t stop there. Weekly Wildcards promise rotating missions with guaranteed Legendaries, while Moxxi’s Big Encore puts one boss in the spotlight each week with boosted drop rates. Maurice’s Black Market Machine also returns, sending players across Kairos for fresh spoils.
Post-launch, Borderlands 4 will roll out Story Packs and Bounty Packs. Story Packs bring full regions, new missions, and even new Vault Hunters. The first one is “Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned.” Bounty Packs focus on narrative missions, bosses, gear, and cosmetics.
On top of that, free seasonal events and Invincible Bosses will keep everyone busy.
Borderlands 4 launches 12 September for PS5, Xbox, and PC, with Switch 2 following on 3 October.
