It’s official – Battlefield 6 is getting a battle royale mode, and players won’t have to wait long to drop in.
After months of leaks, EA has confirmed the mode, which first appeared in Battlefield V with Firestorm, is returning in a much bigger way. This time, it’s not just a side experiment – it’s being shaped directly for the chaos that Battlefield does best.

Battlefield 6 Battle Royale hits Battlefield Labs
Before launch, the mode will go through Battlefield Labs testing. Playtests begin this week, with 100 players thrown into matches, split into 25 four-player squads. Expect the trademark destruction Battlefield is known for – buildings, cover, and even strategy will crumble as the map tightens.
The developers are promising “the deadliest map in the battle royale genre.” With fire closing in and full squad tactics at play, survival is going to take more than quick reflexes. The classic class system returns, too, letting you fight your way with your preferred style.
There’s no set release date for the full mode, but EA says it’s dropping later this week. With Battlefield 6 officially launching on 10 October, fans now have one more reason to squad up and prepare for all-out war.
