Funbox Media Ltd and indie studio NYX Digital are preparing to unleash Battle of Rebels on August 28th, 2025. The third-person shooter lands on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam, with an Xbox Series X release to follow. Physical editions will also be available for Switch and PS5.

What makes this release special is more than just the platforms. Battle of Rebels represents Funbox Media Ltd’s first step into online multiplayer gaming, powered by the Photon multiplayer server. The game has already picked up multiple awards in Unreal Game Competitions for innovation and technical brilliance, making its full release a milestone moment.
The world of Battle of Rebels is as grim as it is chaotic. Aliens have deployed cloning machines in city centres, corrupting human DNA and transforming people into zombies. To shut down the machines, players must clear out the hordes, face down an Alien Boss, and claim the access key that lets them cut the power.
Whether you’re tackling the single-player storyline or diving into online multiplayer, the game offers freedom and strategy. In solo play, you’ll experience five sprawling levels charting humanity’s desperate fight against technologically advanced invaders. Multiplayer opens things up further, with cross-platform battles in 2v2 arenas, letting players on any system fight it out together.
Gameplay variety is front and centre, players can switch between first and third-person views, take control of drones, roll into combat with tanks, and wield an arsenal of weaponry across beautifully rendered environments, playable in up to 4K.
For a project developed largely by a single indie creator, Battle of Rebels stands as proof of how far dedication and vision can go.
