Another September game bites the dust. Baby Steps, the oddball walking sim from Gabe Cuzzillo, Maxi Boch, and Bennett Foddy, has slipped from its September 8 launch to September 23. Publisher Devolver Digital confirmed the move with a fresh trailer and yes, it’s all thanks to Hollow Knight: Silksong landing on September 4.

The team clearly doesn’t want Nate, the game’s clumsy failson protagonist, tripping over Silksong’s shadow. And honestly, fair. Few games want to go head-to-head with that juggernaut.
When it does finally land, Baby Steps promises something very different from bug-slaying metroidvania chaos. You will guide Nate step by awkward step through misty mountains, relying on physics-based movement that makes every stride a struggle. It’s part hiking sim, part existential comedy, and part test of patience.
It’s weird, it’s slow, and it’s proudly useless – but that’s the charm. On September 23, Baby Steps will stumble onto PS5 and PC.
