Ubisoft has revealed a brand-new expansion for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and it’s set to launch right before the year ends. Titled From the Ashes, the DLC arrives on 19 December 2025, the very same day James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash hits cinemas. Perfect timing, right?
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes expansion trailer
Ubisoft already had December lined up with a New Game+ mode and a third-person option, but this expansion takes things further. From the Ashes picks up right after the main story, shifting the spotlight to So’lek, a fierce Na’vi warrior from the Trr’ong clan. The official description doesn’t hold back: “Eywa has abandoned you. So’lek’s journey begins in fire and vengeance.”

In the trailer, we see the RDA teaming up with the Ash clan, leaving chaos and destruction in their wake. Families are scattered, villages torched, and So’lek is forced to rise again, this time to protect what’s left of his people. It’s a darker story, full of loss, survival, and payback.
But the buzz doesn’t stop there. Fans are convinced Ubisoft is teasing melee combat. The trailer shows So’lek gripping a blade, and with third-person mode coming, melee weapons could be the perfect addition. Nothing’s confirmed yet, but the community is hopeful.
From the Ashes looks like it’s setting up a brutal and emotional new chapter for Pandora.
