ASUS has introduced a new keyboard called the ProArt KD300, and this time the focus is not gaming. The company is clearly aiming at creators and office users who want a clean look, smooth typing, and very long battery life.

The ProArt KD300 uses a 65 percent layout. This means it keeps arrow keys and a small navigation column on the right side, while the function keys are placed on a second layer. The keyboard looks simple and professional, with a dark matte finish that ASUS calls Black Aerolite.
Even though it is made for work, the keyboard shares its core design with the ASUS ROG Falchion RX. It uses ASUS Red linear optical switches only. These switches feel smooth and light, with an actuation force between 40 and 55 gf. There are no other switch options, and keycap changes are limited because of the optical design.
One of the standout features is the touch panel. Instead of being placed on the top, it sits at the back of the keyboard. This helps keep the front clean and minimal. The touch panel can be set up through the Gear Link web app. Users can control volume, brightness, media, or even use it for mouse scrolling and clicks with simple gestures.
For connectivity, the ProArt KD300 supports USB Type C, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz wireless. A built-in 4,000 mAh battery powers the keyboard. ASUS claims it can last up to 16 months when used in 2.4 GHz mode with backlighting turned off. The polling rate goes up to 1,000 Hz in wired and 2.4 GHz modes, while Bluetooth runs at a lower 133 Hz.
There are also small but useful features. A physical switch lets users change between Windows and macOS layouts. Another switch allows quick selection between wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz modes. The plastic case includes storage for the wireless dongle and flip-out feet that offer 4.5 and 8 degree typing angles.
ProArt KD300 keyboard price and availability
The ProArt KD300 has launched in China with a price of RMB 999, which is about $145 when converted. It is not available worldwide yet, but global pricing is expected to be close to the Falchion RX, which often sells between $140 and $200 depending on offers.
With its long battery life, clean design, and creator-friendly features, the ProArt KD300 looks like a strong and practical option for users who want a premium work keyboard without a flashy gaming style.
