Assassins Creed live-action Netflix series officially confirmed with top creators

It’s happening. Netflix has officially greenlit a live-action Assassins Creed series. Ubisoft confirmed the news today. This is the first series under their 2020 content deal.

Roberto Patino (Westworld, DMZ) andRoberto Patino (Halo, Homecoming) are leading the project. Both are Emmy-nominated. They’ll serve as creators, showrunners, and executive producers.

The story will follow the same setup as the games. Two secret factions. One fights for freedom. The other wants control. The plot will span different points in history, just like the franchise.

“We’ve loved Assassins Creed since 2007,” said Patino and Wiener. “This is about more than action. It’s about identity, purpose, connection, and what we lose when those things break.”

No casting yet. No release date. And no word on what era they’ll focus on. It could be something new or based on one of the games.

This news follows the launch of Assassins Creed: Shadows. That game, set in Feudal Japan, came out earlier this year on PC, PS5, and Xbox.

Will Netflix get this Assassins Creed right?

Now all eyes are on Netflix. Can it finally deliver a great video game adaptation? What period do you want them to explore first?
