For years, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake has lived in the rumour mill. Leaks popped up. Insider reports followed. Fans kept asking the same question: is it actually real?
Now we finally have an answer.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed that the remake exists, and it even has a name. The project is called Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The confirmation appeared in a new franchise update post, where the publisher talked about the future of Assassin’s Creed.
The message itself was short but clearly intentional. Ubisoft teased fans by telling them to “keep your spyglass on the horizon,” a very pirate-like hint that something is coming.

Sources suggest the game could be revealed around mid-April if development plans stay on schedule.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake could be revealed soon
While the remake grabbed the spotlight, Ubisoft also shared updates on other projects in the series.
Assassin’s Creed Jade, the mobile title being developed with Tencent, is still in production. The game aims to bring the franchise to mobile devices with a larger scale than past attempts.
Another project, Assassin’s Creed Invictus, is also moving forward. Ubisoft says it is a multiplayer experience, but hints that rumours about the game might not be accurate.
Then there is Assassin’s Creed Hexe. Ubisoft confirmed it is still in development, though the team is taking its time to realise its bigger vision.
For now, though, the real excitement sits with Black Flag. If the reveal happens next month, fans may soon return to the Caribbean once again.
