The studio behind Godfall, Counterplay Games, and publisher Fictions have revealed their new roguelite third-person shooter, Armatus. It’s set to release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store).

Armatus is set in the demon-infested ruins of Paris, it puts you in the boots of the last supernatural warrior of an ancient order. Armed with firearms, melee weapons, and celestial powers, you’ll hunt for the lost gateway to heaven, the Sunless Gate.
Counterplay Games studio head Ming Zhang said;
“Armatus blends modern guns and supernatural powers, plus a little melee for good measure”.
Fiction’s producer, Kelsey Hansen, added that the team can’t wait for players to experience the fast-paced combat in 2026.
The game revolves around learning from death. Each run sees you fight brutal demons, die, and revive stronger with new abilities and enhancements. Choose your favourite weapon and power combos, from SMGs and shotguns to holy fire and slow time, to obliterate enemies.
The world has ended. Humanity hides behind holy wards, but you are their only hope.
