8BitDo has introduced a new version of its popular Ultimate Wireless Controller, called the Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller. This updated model brings several improvements both inside and out.

The biggest upgrade in the Ultimate2 Wireless Controller is its Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) joysticks. Many gamers consider TMR joysticks to be better than the commonly used Hall Effect sticks. TMR joysticks are known for being more precise and using less power, which can help extend battery life. With this upgrade, 8BitDo is catching up with competitors like GameSir and GuliKit, who have already introduced controllers with TMR sticks.

Priced at $59.99, the wireless controller borrows several features from its budget-friendly version, the Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller ($29.99). It includes extra shoulder buttons (R4 and L4), giving players more control options. The controller supports both 2.4 GHz wireless and wired connections with a 1000 Hz polling rate, making it respond very quickly to player inputs.
Gamers who have tested the controller believe that the D-pad has been improved for more accurate movements. A toggle switch at the back lets users switch between linear Hall Effect triggers and non-linear tactile triggers, allowing better control in different types of games. The controller also features Fire Ring RGB lighting effects around the joysticks, adding a stylish touch. The more expensive Ultimate 2 version comes with a magnetic charging dock for easy charging.
Both the Ultimate 2 and Ultimate 2C controllers work with PC and Android devices. However, the more expensive version includes rear paddles, RGB lighting, and Hall Effect triggers. Some sources suggest that 8BitDo may soon release versions of the Ultimate 2 for Nintendo Switch and Xbox.
The Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller includes TMR joysticks, an ultra-low latency 2.4 GHz connection, a 1000 Hz polling rate for fast responses, RGB Fire Ring joystick lighting, extra shoulder buttons (R4 & L4), pro back paddle buttons, a trigger mode switch for custom control, Hall Effect triggers for durability, tactile bumpers and an improved D-pad, 6-axis motion control for motion-based gaming, a turbo function for rapid button presses, vibration feedback for an immersive experience, and support for 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2 for custom settings.
With these upgrades, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller aims to be a strong competitor in the gaming market.
